New to CVI?

We're here to help.

Brain-based vision impairments like Cortical (aka Cerebral) Vision Impairment can present major road blocks to learning.  A trained, experienced professional can help to identify targeted interventions and compensatory strategies that help pave the way toward improved educational outcomes.

Meet your CVI consultant

Christine Jones (she/her/hers) entered education as a career-changer after the birth of her child, who was identified with developmental delays at a young age.  Her experience of parenting a child with learning differences inspired her to pursue special education as a career.  She began her education journey as an early childhood classroom teacher for six years, then found her passion in the world of Cortical Vision Impairment, which she attributes to her love of a good mystery and her natural talent as an advocate.

After developing her specialization in children with multiple disabilities and vision impairments in the public school system over the last 11 years, Christine has joyfully moved into the private sector to work with families directly in helping their children with brain-based vision impairments to reach their potential as learners.

She currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland, and is available to see clients of all ages in person in the DMV (DC / MD / VA) metro area.  Virtual consultations are also available for clients living outside this geographic area.

Now Offering Professional Development

CVI is commonly underdiagnosed.  Research tells us that as many as 80% of children with an existing disability could also have CVI.  Would your clinical or educational team know a CVI "red flag" if they saw one?  And what would they do about it?

Christine Jones is an experienced public speaker and presented at the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind & Visually Impaired (AER) International Conference in 2024.  Her conversational style and storytelling abilities allow her to connect with groups of all sizes in an entertaining and engaging way.
